SEB Embedded is a business unit within SEB set out to commercialize Banking as a Service; a completely new offering to the banks new and existing corporate customers that want to build, embed and monetize financial services under their own brand without having to become a bank.
Emelie Magnusson, CPO & Deputy Head of SEB Embedded
Emelie Magnusson joined SEB in 2010 and has worked within various roles to drive transformation, improve operational excellence and manage various specialists.
In 2018, Emelie joined SEBx as a founding member and was part of taking that team from the initial four with a napkin idea to a team over 100 talents with 2 products in production operating completely on Google Cloud. During the time at SEBx, Emelie became CPO for Banking as a Service where she led the exploration of the new offering and business model which was the first shape of SEB Embedded.
Emelie holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering and Management at Chalmers University of Technology and was last year listed as one of the future female leaders in Sweden.
Emelie will share more around the business rationale to move in to Banking as a Service, both for SEB and its customers but also how it works and is technically designed compared to traditional banking.
